今回は、今メジャー球界で大注目の投手です。

カンザスシティ・ロイヤルズに所属するコール・ラガンズという投手。
今季がメジャー2年目となる現在25歳の左腕投手で7月にレンジャーズからロイヤルズへと移籍してきたピッチャーだ。
そして何より、今ではメジャー球界で話題の投手でもあるラガンズだが数年前までは怪我に悩まされ続けていた無名に等しい投手で正直、私もその存在に今まで注目することがなかった。
しかし突如覚醒し8月の最優秀選手、月間MVPに選ばれた。
ラガンズはフォーシームを軸にチェンジアップやカーブ、カットボールやスライダーを投げているが投球の大半を占めるフォーシームは最速163キロに達し平均球速も今シーズンは155キロと昨年以上にスピードが増している。
シーズン半ばに突如、才能が開花したトミー・ジョン手術を2回経験している左腕投手コール・ラガンズ。
これから先、彼の復活劇が更にメジャー球界を賑わすことになるかもしれない。
