The Brewers sent Brent Suter to the mound to face off against Yu Darvish of the Cubs. The Brewers got on the board early with a sacrifice fly by Jesus Aguilar which scored Lorenzo Cain. Cain reached on an error to lead off the game. The Cubs answered quickly in the bottom half of the 1st with a Javier Baez single which plated Albert Almora Jr, followed by an Anthony Rizzo single scoring Baez. The middle innings of this game were quiet with both starters shutting down the opposing team’s offence. On the day, Suter went 5 innings giving up 2 ER and striking out 3, and Darvish went 6 innings giving up 0 Earned Runs while striking out 8. In the 7th, the Brewers tied up the game with a Christian Yelich sacrifice fly, which scored Eric Sogard. The Cubs answered instantly in the bottom half of the frame, with Addison Russell scoring on an error by Eric Sogard. The Cubs only needed that one run, and with quick work by Brandon Morrow in the 9th, the Cubs secured a 3-2 win. This was the 2nd game of a 4 game series.
