Philadelphia Phillies DH Kyle Schwarber left Tuesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays due to left elbow discomfort. Schwarber kicked off the bottom of the first inning with a massive 437-foot home run, setting a new MLB record for leadoff homers in a season with 14, surpassing Alfonso Soriano’s 2013 record. Schwarber, who now has 45 career leadoff homers, also walked in the third inning but injured his elbow while diving back to first base during a pickoff attempt.
